Talent academies will be set up in all the 47 counties, sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has said.
The move is set to nature more than 1000 sporting talents across the country.
Echesa revealed the good news while presiding over a soccer match between Kanzu FC and Kabula FC in Bumulua constituency over the weekend.
“I plan to set up talent academies in the 47 counties so that we can nuture raw talent straight from the grassroots level .In doing so we will boast of diverse talent at the national level .I presided over a soccer match between Kanzu fc VS Kabula fc in Bumula constituency,” he said

Echesa had earlier in the day participated in a fundraising event ourganised by the Boda Boda sacco association of Bumula constituency.
“I believe in supporting the youth to be successful entrepreneurs who make an honest and decent living for themselves and generations to come,” said the CS
Retired President Mwai Kibaki in 2010 launched the National Youth Talent Academy (NYTA) with the aim of maturing sporting talents in the country.
More than 100 youths who are talented in sports benefited from the programme.
